Kadambari MISRA

Born in 1981 in India, Kadambari MISRA graduated from the National Institute of Design. She lives and works in New Delhi, India. Her work comes from a basic curiosity for all that surrounds her, people in particular. She is strongly influenced by the places she lived in and the cultures she mixed with: India, Iran, Mexico and France. As a social photographer specialized in documentaries for seven years, people of her surroundings were recurrent subjects in her work: their lives, the sense of disorder and anonymity common to most big cities such as New Delhi, Mexico City, London, Paris. These subjects are also nourishing her paintings except that, in it, she often explores her own presence in this environment.  In a recent series of portraits, she uses bright and contrasting colors and gathers elements of color and arrangement to create personalities.
